When you first connect your KNX home to Apple HomeKit, you need to allocate all your smart device to their rooms manually.

Devices in HomeKit are called Accessories, Rooms are optional parts of homes, and represent individual rooms in the home. Then there's Zones, which are also optional groupings of rooms in a home; for example, “upstairs” and “downstairs” would be represented by zones.

Assigning Accessories into Rooms and Zones allows you to command Siri with commands like:

  • "Hey Siri, dim all bedroom lights."

  • "Siri, turn off all of the lights downstairs."

  • "Hey Siri, play rock music in the kitchen."

How to assign devices into Rooms?

  1. Tap Home icon 🏠, then choose the room the accessory is currently assigned to. If it’s not already assigned, look in the Default Room

  2. Touch and hold the accessory’s button, then swipe up or tap ⚙️.

  3. Tap Room, then choose a room.

  4. Turn on Include in Favorites to add the accessory to the Home tab.

To rearrange your Favorites:

  • tap 🏠, tap Edit Screen, then drag the accessory buttons into the arrangement you want. Tap Done when you’re finished
