When you first connect your Loxone, Gira or KNX home to Amazon Alexa mobile app, you need to allocate all your smart device to their groups and rooms manually.

Assigning devices into groups/rooms allows you to command Alexa with commands like:

  • "Alexa, lights on" [all the lights in that room will turn on, if the speaker device is added to the same room that you're standing in when you command]

  • "Alexa, dim all bedroom lights."

  • "Alexa, turn off all of the lights downstairs."

  • "Alexa, play rock music in the kitchen."

Note: Your smart speaker device (e.g. Amazon Echo) can only be added to one smart home group at a time.

How to assign devices into Groups?

  1. Go to the menu, and select the Devices icon .

  2. Select the + icon, and then Add group.

  3. Use pre-set group names, or create your own, and then select Next.

  4. Select the devices you want to include and then Save.
